Tenn. - The 2006 TranSouth Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament will
be decided on Saturday afternoon at
Cumberland University's Ernest L. Stockton Field. #1 seed Cumberland
University defeated #5 seed Lyon College for the 2006 TranSouth Athletic Conference Baseball Championship.

Game 2: #2 Trevecca Nazarene defeated #7 Martin Methodist 7-1

Tournament pairings: Cumberland
University earned the No. 1 seed in this weeks tournament with a 15-3
league record. Trevecca Nazarene University finished second with
a 13-5 record, Union University claimed the third seed with a 10-8
record, and Freed-Hardeman finished fourth with an 8-10 mark.
Lyon College and Crichton College tied for the fifth spot with a 6-12
record, with Lyon earning the No. 5 seed by way of the
tiebreaker. Martin Methodist finished seventh with a league
record of 5-13.
Region XI Information:Cumberland
has already earned at automatic bid to next weeks NAIA Region XI
Tournament. The winner of the conference will tournament will
earned the other automatic bid from the TranSouth Conference.
Should Cumberland win the tournament title, the runner-up team will
received the automatic region bid. The two automatic bids from
the MidSouth Conference and then two at-large bids from the higher
ranked teams in the region rankings, not already in the region, will
complete the field of six region tournament
