Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene won the 2006 TranSouth Athletic Conference
Softball Tournament
with a 2-1 win over #3 seed Martin Methodist College at Cumberland
University in Lebanon,
Tennessee. Trevecca and Martin will represent the TranSouth
Conference at the 2006 NAIA Region XI Tournament at Jeffersonville High
School in Louisville, Ky. The tournament will begin on Thursday, May
12, 2006.

Tournament Pairings:Trevecca
Nazarene earned the No. 1 seed by winning the regular season crown with
an 11-5 for the second straight season. Union and Martin Methodist
tied for second at 10-6, with Union gaining the No. 2 seed by way of
the tiebreaker. Freed-Hardeman finished fourth at 6-10, followed by
Cumberand in fifth place at 3-13.
Region XI Tournament Information:Trevecca
Nazarene has already locked up an automatic bid to the NAIA Region XI
Tournament next week. The winner of the conference tournament
will earned the other automatic bid from the TranSouth
Conference. Should Trevecca Nazarene win the tournament, the
runner-up teamed will receive the bid. This year, only four teams
will play in the NAIA Region XI Tournament because of the low number of
total teams in the region. The two automatic bids from the
MidSouth Conference will complete the four-team region field.
