NASHVILLE, Tenn – The TranSouth Athletic Conference has released its weekly volleyball honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007.
Crissandra Perez of Freed-Hardeman was selected as the Player of the Week, Trevecca Nazarene’s Kimi Coffey was selected as the Libero of the Week and Lisa Gaddie of Bethel College was chosen as the Setter of the Week.
All three were also honored regionally with respective NAIA Region XI Player, Libero and Setter of the Week nods.
Perez, a 5-10, junior outside hitter from the Dominican Republic, led Freed-Hardeman (20-1) to a 5-1 week, including a 4-0 outcome at the Faulkner Invitational. Perez had 104 kills, a .497 kill percentage, earned nine aces, four solo blocks and 13 assisted blocks during the week.
Coffey, a 5-6, sophomore libero from Greenwood, Ind., sparked Trevecca Nazarene to a 4-1 week with the only loss on the ledger coming to No. 13 ranked Lindenwood University. Coffey had 150 digs (8.8 per game), notched two aces and had a .914 reception percentage for the week.
Gaddie, a 5-10 senior setter from Memphis, Tenn., paced Bethel College to an undefeated 3-0 week with wins over Cumberland University, Lambuth University and Crichton College. Gaddie had 101 assists, six aces, 16 kills, five solo blocks and 18 assisted blocks this week.
