HENDERSON, Tenn. – After seeing a pair of upsets on the opening day of the Region XI tournament on Friday, the seeding held in Saturday's semifinal round.

#1 seed Georgetown defeated #5 seed Trevecca 32-34, 30-23, 30-16, 30-22. #2 seed Campbellsville defeated Union 28-30, 27-30, 33-31, 30-23, 15-10.

The top two seeds faced off in the Championship match with #2 Campbellsville upsetting #1 seed Georgetown (28-30, 30-24, 30-28, 27-30, 8-15) at Freed-Hardeman.


On Friday, #5 Seed Trevecca (26-9) pulled an upset in the quarter final round of the 2007-2008 NAIA Region XI Tournament. #6 seed Union University (25-10) followed that with an upset over #3 seed and host Freed-Hardeman who finished the season at 30-5. The Trojans defeated #4 and TranSouth regular season co-champions Martin Methodist (24-11) 23-30, 23-30, 30-24, 30-28, 15-13 on Friday. The Bulldogs defeated the Lions 30-21, 30-23, 30-22. Freed-Hardeman, the TranSouth regular season co-champions and TranSouth Tournament champions, lost two of their five games on the season to Union.


Martin Methodist had won all four previous meetings this season against Trevecca. Twice in the regular season and then took two from the Trojans in last weekend’s TranSouth tournament. In all the RedHawks had won seven in a row over the Trojans.
