Lyon's Sarah Ruegger
HENDERSON, Tenn. - Sarah Ruegger of Lyon (Ark.) College and Tiffany Harris of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University have been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference's women's soccer offensive and defensive players of the week respectively for the week ending Sept. 7, 2008.
Ruegger, a senior forward from Gainesville, Fla., accumulated 12 points
in two games on five goals and two assists. In a 6-0 Piper win over
Central Baptist (Ark.) College, Ruegger scored once and added two
assists, then followed with a four-goal performance in Lyon's 8-0
victory against the University of the Ozarks (Ark.) as the Pipers
improved to 3-1 on the season.
Harris, a sophomore goalkeeper from Columbia, Mo., had two shutouts in four games and finished the week with a 0.5 goals allowed average. She saved 30 shots for the Lady Lions, including 10 in a 2-0 win over St. Catharine (Ky.) College and 12 in a 1-0 loss to Bryan (Tenn.) College.
Freed-Hardeman is 4-3 on the season.
