HENDERSON, Tenn. - Anja Klotzle of Lyon (Ark.) College and Laura Pla of Union (Tenn.) University have been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference's women's soccer offensive and defensive players of the week respectively for the week ending Oct. 5, 2008.

Klotzle, a freshman forward from Altadena, Calif., led the Pipers to a 2-0 week by scoring three goals and assisting on another.  In a 4-1 win over William Woods (Mo.) University, she played a part in three of the team's goals by scoring twice and assisting on a third.  Lyon College is 6-3-1 on the season.

Pla, a junior goalkeeper from Nashville, Tenn., posted her third straight shutout and sixth of the season in the Lady Bulldogs' 2-0 win over cross-town rival Lambuth (Tenn.) University.  In Union's two wins on the week, she allowed one goal and saved eight shots.  The Lady Bulldogs are 9-3 on the season.
