JACKSON, Tenn. - Union (Tenn.) University captured the the 2010 TranSouth Conference Women's and Men's Cross Country titles. The races took place on Saturday, October 23 on the campus of Union University in Jackson, Tenn. This was the eighth straight conference title for the Union women and seventh straight for the Union men.

The postseason awards were announced at the luncheon following the meets in the Grant Events Center on the Union Campus. Among the awards given, Union's Allison Martin and Alex Bett were named runners of the year.

In the women's race, Blue Mountain (Miss.) finished second, Bethel (Tenn.) finished third, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) finished fourth and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) competed with three runners.

On the men's side, Bethel (Tenn.) finished second, Blue Mountain (Miss.) finished third, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) finished fourth and Trevecca Nazarene finished fifth.

With the TranSouth not having at least six schools with cross country teams, the teams will race in a NAIA Qualifying Event on Friday, Nov. 5 in Nashville along with schools from the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The team champion from the qualifying race, along with the top 5 individuals not on the winning team, will advance to the NAIA National Meet on Nov. 20 in Vancouver, Wash.
