HENDERSON, Tenn. - The 2011 TranSouth Conference Softball Championships begin on Wednesday, May 4, and will continue through Friday, May 6. The three-day event will take place at Morgan Stadium at Associates Field on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.
Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University, the defending tournament champion and 2011 regular season champion, went unbeaten in the tournament to take the championship banner. The Trojans defeated second-seeded Union (Tenn.) University in the finals, 5-1.
The tournament featured plenty of closely contested ballgames with six of the 16 games ending on walk-off hits and five games going into extra innings.
