
The Canebrake Golf Club in Athens, Ala. hosted the 54-hole championship for the first time. The course played to a par of 72 over 6774 yards. There were 42 golfers and eight teams competing for the 2012 Championship.
Union dominated play in the third round on Tuesday. The team posted a tournament best 298. Trevecca also turned in a 298 during Monday's second round. For the tournament the Bulldogs totaled a team score of 302-301-298=901. Second place Blue Mountain turned in a 313-306-304=923. The rest of the field included: Cumberland University (316-306-310=932), Bethel University (318-323-312=953), Martin Methodist (325-318-318=961), Freed-Hardeman (334-335-345=1014), and Lyon College (357-350-347=1054).

Trevecca was allowed to play, but weren't eligible for the championship or awards. Trevecca recorded a team score of 306-298-313=917. TNU senior Joey Bradley tied Individual Medalist Brett Barry with a 70-68-75=213. Barry and Bradley went to an unofficial playoff, which Bradley won on the first hole.
