BURKESVILLE,
Ky. – Fresh off of their victory at the Walsh Invitational, NAIA No. 25 Trevecca
continued their fall schedule on October 9-10, when they traveled to
Burkesville, Ky. to take part in the Lindsey Wilson College tournament.
The
Trojans finished in third place, shooting a team total of 680
(339-341), and breaking the school record for team score for the second
time this season. Tournament host Lindsey Wilson won the tournament by
a single stroke, posting a total of 642 (324-318). The University of Mobile shot 643 (328-315) and finished in second place, Georgetown College finished in fourth, shooting 686 (346-340), and Lincoln Memorial University rounded out the top five, posting a team total of 707 (355-352).
Of
the 40 individual golfers in the field, Trevecca’s Mindy Seigenthaler
finished in third place with a 158 (77-81) just four shots back of
tournament medalist Megan Rice from Campbellsville (77-77) Aline Ducker
of Lindsey Wilson, finished at 157 (75-82) in second place. Cheslee
Elkins of Lindsey Wilson finishing in a fourth place tie at 160 (78-82)
with her teammate Jessica Robertson (86-74). Betsy Beaver was the next
Trojan on the leaderboard, posting a 169 (80-89), Noel Moffett finished
with a two day total of 174 (84-90), Abby Goodrich shot 179 (89-90),
and Koriann Reed rounded out the Trojans in the field, posting a two
day total of 202 (104-98).
