HENDERSON, Tenn. - Freed-Hardeman University’s Alexandra Mayrat has been named the women’s TranSouth Player of the Month for the period ending April 18, 2007.
Mayrat, a freshman from Perpignan, France, plays #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Lady Lions. She is currently ranked No. 5 in the NAIA in singles and doubles, with an overall singles record of 15-2.
During the last month Mayrat has compiled a 9-1 singles record and a 9-2 doubles record. Four of those wins came against women in the nation’s top 25, with the most notable coming over Lindsey Wilson’s No. 3 ranked Candela Castanon. She has helped the Lady Lions to a 21-3 overall record and a perfect 6-0 in the TranSouth conference.
