NASHVILLE, Tenn – The TranSouth Athletic Conference has released its weekly men’s soccer honors for theweek ending Sunday, October 21, 2007.
Mark Foster of Trevecca Nazarene University has been named the TranSouth Offensive Player of the Week, while James Lambley of Trevecca Nazarene University is the Defensive Player of the Week.
Foster, a 5’7” junior midfielder from Newcastle, Northern Ireland, helped the Trojans to a 2-0 week and a berth into the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament for just the fourth time in school history. Foster scored a goal in Trevecca’s 4-3 overtime win at Cumberland University. It’s just the second win in 10 tries all-time for the Trojans versus Cumberland University. Foster had another goal and an assist in Trevecca’s 2-0 win over Freed-Hardeman. The win secured Trevecca’s berth back into postseason action. Trevecca is 5-8-1 overall and 4-5 in TranSouth play.
Lambley, a 6’0” freshman goalkeeper from Lincolnshire, England, helped the Trojans to a 2-0 week and a berth into the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament for just the fourth time in school history. Lambley allowed three goals in a 4-3 double-overtime victory at Cumberland University. It’s just the second win in 10 tries all-time for the Trojans versus Cumberland. Lambley produced a shutout of the playoff clinching 2-0 win over Freed-Hardeman. Trevecca is 5-8-1 overall and 4-5 in TranSouth play.
