JACKSON, Tenn. - After a long regular season and two hard fought tournament matches it still took another nine minutes and fitteen seconds to decide the outcome of the conference tournament finals.
The Mid-Continent University Cougars won in thrilling fashion as Feddy Okello scored the winning goal to give his squad a TranSouth Tournament Championship.
Martin Methodist had gone ahead in the second period on a goal by Moses Semakula but the Cougars fought back to tie the match on a strike by Gavin Ocheing. That set up the game winner by Okello with just 45 seconds left in the overtime. In the semifinal round, the number one and two seeded teams in the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Semi-Finals were upset Monday in Jackson. #3 Mid-Continent upset #2 Bethel 1-0. The Cougars scored a first half goal and held off the Wildcats to advance to the finals. In the second match-up of the day #5 Martin Methodist beat #1 Lambuth 3-0. The RedHawks led 1-0 at the break and added two second half goals to beat the regular season champs on their home field. TranSouth Men's Soccer Home Page and Standings
