NASHVILLE,
Tenn. – Renae Williams of NAIA No. 15 Cumberland University has been selected
as the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Players of the Week for
the week ending December 2, 2007.
Williams, a 6'1”
senior forward from Oak Ridge, Tenn., helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record
on the week.
In Cumberland’s 97-91 win over the University of Saint Francis
(Ill.), Williams produced 34 points, 10
rebounds, and a steal while hitting 10-of-12 from the field, 4-of-5 from beyond
the three-point line, and 10-of-14 from the foul line. In the Bulldogs 85-40
win over NCAA D3 Fisk University she delivered 28 points and 10 rebounds while
hitting 11-of-15 from the field, 4-of-7 from three-point range, and both of her
free throw attempts.
For
the week Williams averaged 31 points and 10 rebounds while hitting 21-27 (78%)
from the field, 8-12 (67%) from three-point range, and 12-16 (75%) from the
foul line.
The
Bulldogs are now 6-0 on the year.
