NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Joshephine Owino of Union University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2008.

 
Owino, a 6’4” junior center from Mombasa, Kenya, led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 week and a perfect regular season record in conference play. In a 99-86 win over No. 20 Trevecca she scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds with two blocks and four steals. In wins over Blue Mountain and Mid-Continent she posted 20 and 25 points respectively and nearly posted a triple-double with eight rebounds and nine blocks at Mid-Continent.

 

For the week she averaged 21 points, six rebounds, 3.7 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game. From the field she was 23-of-29 (79%) and hit 17-of-20 (85%) from the foul line.

Union is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA and are 29-0 overall and won the TranSouth regular season title with a 18-0 league mark.
