NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In game one of NAIA No. 4 Trevecca's double-header with Lambuth University on Thursday (4/17) Trojan hurler Brittiany Johnson became just the third pitcher in NAIA history to reach the 1,000 career strike out mark.
Johnson did so when she sat down her sixth Eagle of the game in the fourth inning. Even more impressive is that Johnson has reached the plateau in just her third season at Trevecca after transferring from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga following her freshman season.
Johnson holds nearly all of Trevecca's pitching records and is ranked highly in several NAIA categories. The NAIA All-American is also proficient with the bat. Johnson holds the TNU record for career home runs and is moving up the NAIA list with 40 career home runs.
