PULASKI, Tenn. - The TranSouth Athletic Conference announced the 2009 All-Conference Awards at the opening ceremony of the 2009 TranSouth Softball Tournament last week. There were a total of 33 athletes from eight different schools honored.

Trevecca's Chelsea Bailey took home the Player of the Year award, while Freed's Tarrah Tucker was the Pitcther of the Year. Martin Methodist's Maria Robinson was chosen as the Newcomer of the Year and teammate Chrissy Worth was selected as the Freshman of the Year. The RedHawks Brandie Paul is the TranSouth Coach of the Year.

The eighteen-member All-TranSouth First Team represents six different schools. Martin Methodist had a high of six on the All-Conference First Team, followed by Trevecca Nazarene University, Freed-Hardeman University and Union University all with three on the first team. Lyon College had two members and Bethel College had one.

The fifteen-member second team has representatives from seven different schools. Bethel College had the most on the second team with six selections.
