SECAUCUS, N.J. - The 2009 Major League Baseball Draft
wrapped up today (June 11) as two players from the TranSouth ranks were
selected over the three-day event.
The first TranSouth
player to get picked was Jonathan Keck, a junior left-handed pitcher from
Bethel (Tenn.) College. He went in the 42nd round to the Kansas City Royal and
was overall pick No. 1262.
The other was the TranSouth Player of the Year Tim Dunn,
a junior right-handed pitcher from Trevecca Nazarene University. He went in the
46th round to the Cincinnati Reds and was the 1379 overall pick.
The
event took place at the MLB Network studios in
Secaucus, New Jersey. Last year, 34 NAIA players were chosen.
