HENDERSON, Tenn. - Tiffany Payton of Mid-Continent (Ky.) University has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week for the week ending Oct. 25, 2009.

Payton, a junior outside hitter from Wadesville, Ind., led the Lady Cougars to a 2-2 week that included back-to-back wins for the first time since Sept. 2007.  She recorded season-highs of 22 kills and 32 digs in a 3-2 win over Brescia (Ky.) University after tallying 10 kills and 24 digs in a three-set sweep of St. Catharine (Ky.) College.

For the week, Payton averaged 3.3 kills and 5.1 digs per game. She also totaled eight aces and three blocks and had double-digits in digs in three of her four matches.

Mid-Continent is 4-16 on the season.
