JACKSON, Tenn. - A trio of players from Union University surpassed the 1,000 career point mark within a span of three games, including two in the same game. Kayla Hudson reached her mark on February 4 while Sara Chan and Jessica Graves passed 1,000 points on February 11.

Junior guard Kayla Hudson passed the 1,000 career point mark in the Lady Bulldog win at Bethel (Tenn.) University on Thursday. Hudson, a native of Gleason, Tenn., sank a three pointer to open the game for her 1,000th point. She finished the game with 18 points. The NAIA All-American Hudson has been a part of one national championship team, made two trips to the national tournament semifinals, and has helped Union to two TranSouth Titles. During her two-plus years with Union, the Lady Bulldogs have gone 94-3. Hudson has been Union's starting point guard in each of those 97 games. For her career, Hudson has scored 1,015 points and has dished out 574 assists in 97 games. She is averaging 10.4 points and 5.9 assists per game. Hudson is a career 46 percent three-point shooter (190-414). She is also a 90 percent career free-throw shooter (209-232).

Sara Chan, a 6-foot-4 center from Sudan, entered the game needing just four points to reach 1,000. She scored a game high 20 to push her well over the mark. Chan, a member of the 2008 TranSouth All-Freshman team, has played in the shadows of two-time NAIA Player of the Year Josephine Owino for the past two seasons. However, this season, Chan is averaging 15.6 points and 9.5 rebounds for the No. 1 ranked Lady Bulldogs. She played a key role in last season national championship, averaging 10 points and six rebounds in the tournament, including 23 points in the semifinals. For her career, Chan has 1,016 points (10.7) and 662 (7.0) rebounds in 95 games with Union.

Jessica Graves, a 5-foot-4 guard from Humboldt, Tenn., needed 11 points to reach the mark of 1,000 career points. She had just enough as she finished the game with 12 points to surpass the mark. Graves has played on two NAIA National Championships teams for Union. She was a member of the 2006 TranSouth All-Freshman team. On the season, she is averaging eight points, two rebounds and two assists per game. For her career, Graves has 1,001 (8.2) career points in 122 games. She has also made .413 percent (147-356) in her career from behind the arc.
