JACKSON, Tenn. - Matt Greener of Cumberland (Tenn.) University and Tim Dunn of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University have been named the TranSouth baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the week ending February21, 2010.


Greener, a 5-foot-10 senior from Jupiter, Fla., helped his team to a 4-1 week. Greener hit .636 (7-11) with four runs, three doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI. He also recorded a walk and was 1-for-1 in stolen bases. Greener's best game was a 2-for-2 performance in a game versus St. Francis (Ind.). He recorded six RBI in the game, including a solo home run and a grand slam in the same inning. He had at least one hit in all five games and at least one RBI in four of the five games. Greener posted a 1.455 slugging percentage on the week. Cumberland is 4-1 on the season and is ranked No. 17 in the NAIA.


Dunn, a 6-foot-2 senior from Bardwell, Ky,. posted a complete game road win at No. 23 Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.). In his nine innings of work, Dunn allowed just two runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts while walking just one. He helped Trevecca Nazarene, who is receiving votes in the NAIA preseason rankings, improved to 2-4 on the year.
