PULASKI, Tenn. - Lauren Baker of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University has been chosen as the TranSouth Pitcher of the Week while Amber Hayes of Union (Tenn.) University and Megan Hemmingsen of Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University have been selected TranSouth Co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 28, 2010.
 
Baker, a sophomore pitcher and outfielder from Hendersonville, Tenn., pitched a pair of wins last week in the circle for the Trojans. Baker delivered a 9-inning, 2-1 win over NCAA Division II University of North Alabama before closing the week out with a 6-1 win over Covenant College. Baker sat down 22 batters in 16 innings pitched while allowing just two earned runs for an ERA of 0.88. The Trojans were 4-0 last week and are 6-0 overall. 

Hayes, a junior short-stop from Brighton, Tenn. helped Union to four wins, two coming over NAIA No. 25 McKendree (Ill.) University. Hayes was 6-for-13 at the plate batting .462 and slugging 1.077. She had four extra base hits including two round-trippers and two doubles. Hayes scored five times for the Bulldogs and picked up six RBI. The Bulldogs received votes in the NAIA Pre-Season Poll and are 8-2 this season.
 
Hemmingsen, a senior second baseman from Woodlawn, Tenn., recorded a hit in every official at bat last week for the Trojans. The senior hit two home runs and a double. Hemmingsen scored six times and had five RBI and three walks while hitting 5-for-8 (.625) with an impressive 1.500 slugging percentage.
