JACKSON, Tenn. - Freed-Hardeman junior post Meribeth Boehler became the third Lady Lion to reach a scoring milestone this season, getting the 1000th point of her career in FHU's 75-62 win over Union (Tenn.) University in the TranSouth Conference championship game on Monday, March 8.

Boehler's free throw with 15:09 left in the game gave her 1000 for her career, making her the 27th player in school history to reach the plateau.  Senior guard Tara Deatheridge also reached 1000 points earlier in the season.  Senior forward Jana Cross also topped the 2000 point mark for her career this year.

Boehler, a native of Ramer, Tenn., is averaging career-highs in both points (14.3) and rebounds (6.8) this season and surpassed 500 career rebounds last month.  Her numbers in the always-difficult TranSouth were even better, scoring 15.1 points per game and shooting 60.2 percent from the floor in the 16-game conference schedule.

The Lady Lions are 26-6 on the season and won their first conference tournament championship since 2006.
