NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The TranSouth Athletic Conference announced its 2010 softball postseason awards today. A total of 30 athletes honored this year with all eight school in the conference represented.
 
Highlights of this year's awards include: Martin Methodist's Karina De Los Santos being named the TranSouth Player of the Year, Kelsey Lantrip of Trevecca Nazarene University being selected Newcomer of the Year, Katlin White of Martin Methodist being chosen as the Pitcher of the Year, and Amber Kinsey of Martin Methodist being selected as the Freshman of the Year. Ben Tyree of Trevecca was named the Coach of the Year. TranSouth All-Conference first and second teams are chosen by the league's eight head coaches.



The 2010 TranSouth Softball Tournament kicks off tomorrow with all eight teams playing first round games. This year's tournament will be played on the campus Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee at the Trojan Softball Complex. The first game of the tournament is slated for 10:00am Wednesday. The tournament will run through Friday with the championship game scheduled for 5:00.
