HENDERSON, Tenn. - Thaise Vieria of Bethel (Tenn.) University has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference's volleyball player of the week for the week ending Sept. 5, 2010.

The 5-foot-8 junior middle hitter from Matozinhos, Brazil, led the Lady Wildcats to a pair of conference wins during the week with a very strong performance at the net, averaging 5.0 kills per set with a .392 attack percentage.  Vieria tallied 17 kills and 11 digs in a four-set win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University and followed with a 23-kill performance in a 3-1 win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.

She also averaged 2.5 digs per set and totaled three aces and six blocks during the week.

Bethel is 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in the TranSouth Conference.
