PICKWICK DAM, Tenn. - Bethel University won the 2010 TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship with a score of 342-330=672. It breaks a run of five straight championships by Trevecca.

The Wildcats had two golfers finish on top after 36-holes. Emily Muse (83-80) and Baillie Johnson (82-81) finished with a 163. Muse won in a one-hole playoff and earned the 2010 TranSouth Women's Golf Medalist.

The 36-hole tournament was played at the Pickwick Landing State Park Golf Course. The Tennessee Trails course played to a par of 72 over 5814 yards. There were four teams and 22 golfers competing in the women's tournament.

Trevecca Nazarene finished second with a team total of 347-353=700 and were followed by Lyon College at 379-370=749 and Martin Methodist at 381-388=769. Cumberland University had three individuals participating. 

K.C. McGinley of Cumberland was third at 84-80=164. Fellow Bulldog Allyson Agee was fourth at 81-87=168. Trevecca's Betsy Beaver, the Medalist in 2007, finished fifth at 83-89=172. Also making All-Tournament were Kelsey Thweatt (84-89) of Martin Methodist and Bethel's Hayley Williams (88-85) and Jessica Maness (89-84) at 173.

K.C. McGinley of Cumberland earned Freshman of the Year honors while Monte Cunningham of Bethel was awarded the Coach of the Year honor.

Next up for the TranSouth women's golf teams, the NAIA National Tournament Qualifier, which takes place April 26-27 at Bull Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ga.
