Jun 9 -- Union University Captures
TSAC All-Sports Trophy
Union University captured the TranSouth Conference All-Sports
Trophy. Union led the way with a 4.722 average, while Trevecca
Nazarene University was a close second. The award is based on a
point system that awards each school for their finishes in the
13 sponsored TranSouth sports.

This final sports update puts a wrap on baseball, softball,
golf, and tennis. In addition, it includes a summary of TSAC
teams who advanced to post-season play, including the Union
women's basketball team, who won the national championship.

Jun 8 -- Fronabarger Promoted to Head
Baseball Coach at Union
Brent
Fronabarger, Union Universitys assistant baseball coach
for the past eight seasons, has been named the new head coach
for the Bulldog baseball program. Fronabarger accepted the offer
from university president Dr. David Dockery and athletics
director Dr. David Blackstock after 17-year head coach, Andy
Rushing, resigned his position.

Jun 7 -- Trevecca's Coon Taken in 15th
Round of MLB Draft
The
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected Trevecca Nazarene
University and NAIA All-American Brad Coon with the 463rd pick
in the 15th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur
draft.

May 19 -- Unions Andy Rushing
Resigns from Baseball Post
Long
time Union University baseball coach, Andy Rushing, has resigned
from his baseball coaching duties. Rushing will remain at Union
as he will continue his teaching duties and also will serve as
the assistant golf coach. Rushing has just completed his 17th
season as head coach of the Union University Bulldogs.

May 18 -- USA Basketball Announces
Members On Standing Committees, Men's And Women's Competition
Committees
With 2005 marking the start of a new USA Basketball
quadrennium, USA Basketball has announced that its men's and
women's competition committees and USA Basketball's Standing
Committees for the new quadrennium have been finalized.
Trevecca's Julie van Beek has been named to the women's
Collegiate Committee representing the NAIA.
