
Player of the Week
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vee Young of Martin Methodist College is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, January 29, 2012.
Young, a six-foot-one senior forward from Pulaski, Tenn., averaged 26 points and 10.5 rebounds per game over two wins for the RedHawks this week. Young scored 31 points in just 36 minutes of play in a 83-77 overtime win at Trevecca. Young added 12 rebounds and two blocks. Young shot 51% (18-35) from the field and hit 75% (15-20) from the foul line for the week.
Young added 21 points and nine rebounds in MMC's 77-74 win over Bethel University.

Player of the Week
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Eric Orr of Trevecca Nazarene University and Marcus Bowins of Mid-Continent University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, January 29, 2012.
Orr, a six-foot-six sophomore forward from Nashville, Tenn., led Trevecca to an upset win over No. 9 Martin Methodist College and a narrow loss at No. 25 Union University. Against the RedHawks he scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Against the Bulldogs he paced the Trojans with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Orr averaged 15.5 points and 10 rebounds for the week while shooting 50% (13-26) from the field and hitting both of this three-point attempts.
Bowins, a six-foot-five senior forward from Nashville, Tenn., averaged 16.4 points and four rebounds a game in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. Bowins top game was a 20-point effort in a 84-66 win over Blue Mountain College. He added 13 points in a win over Cumberland University. Bowins shot 58% (11-19) from the field and hit 69% (9-13) from three-point range on the week.
