CROSS COUNTRY - Freed-Hardeman
University and Union University participated in the UT-Martin
Invitational last Saturday. Union's women earned a third place
finish, while their men posted a fourth place finish.
Freed-Hardeman posted night and 11th place finishes in the men's
and women's events respectively. No results for Lyon College and
Cumberland University were reported.
Coming up this Thursday, October 21, all
TranSouth cross country teams will be participating the Lambuth
University Invitational in Jackson, Tenn. This will be the final
cross country meet before the TranSouth Conference Meet on Friday,
October 29, also in Jackson, Tenn.

MEN'S SOCCER - Martin Methodist College
(8-0-1) continues to lead the pack in the TranSouth. The RedHawks
remained No. 18 in the NAIA National rankings and are ranked No. 2
in the NAIA Region XI rankings. Cumberland University (7-4-2) is
ranked No. 3 in the NAIA Region XI rankings. Union University
sophomore Gareth Munro was named the TranSouth Conference and the
NAIA Region XI Player of the Week for his efforts during the week.
WOMEN'S SOCCER -Like the men, the
Martin Methodist College (8-2) women's team is also leading the
way. The RedHawks stayed at the No. 11 spot in the NAIA National
Rankings. In the NAIA Region XI rankings, Martin Methodist is No.
2 and Cumbermand University (1-4-2) is No. 4. Asuka Kubota, of
Martin Methodist College, was named the TranSouth Conference and
NAIA Region XI Player of the Week for her efforts in leading the
RedHawks during the week.
VOLLEYBALL - Union University (14-1,
6-0) made history this past week as they moved up seven spots from
No. 20 to No. 13 in the NAIA National rankings. This is the
highest ranking in the seven-year history of Union volleyball.
Union also jumped to the No. 1 spot in the NAIA Region XI
rankings, with Freed-Hardeman University and Martin Methodist
College coming in at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively. For Union
University, three players swept the weekly honors in both the
TranSouth Conference and the NAIA Region XI. Union's Gladys
Wandera, Nicole Garber, and Allison Shein were named Player of the
Week, Setter of the Week, and Libero of the Week respectively.
