CROSS COUNTRY - This past weekend saw
only one TranSouth team in action. Cumberland University ran in
the Oglethorpe Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia. Up next for all
four TranSouth Cross Country teams will be the Lambuth
Invitational in Jackson, Tenn. This will be a tune-up on the same
site as the TranSouth Conference Meet on Oct. 29.
Coming up on Friday, October 29 in Jackson,
Tenn. will be the TranSouth Conference Cross Country Meet. The
event will take place at the UT Ag Center starting at 3:30 pm for
the women and 4:00 pm for the men.

MEN'S SOCCER - The Martin Methodist
College mens soccer team, like the womens team, sit
atop the TranSouth Standings with a 3- 0 record. The RedHawks are
ranked No. 15 in the NAIA National rankings, up from No. 18 last
week. Cumberland University entered the polls this week as they
received votes at the 30th spot. Three TranSouth Teams are ranked
in the top five of the NAIA Region XI rankings. Included are No. 2
Martin Methodist, No. 3 Cumberland, and newcomer to the region
rankings, No. 5 Union University. Richard Askey, of Martin
Methodist College, was named the TranSouth Conference Player of
the Week. The mens TranSouth Conference soccer tournament
will be played on Nov. 11 and 12.

WOMEN'S SOCCER -Martin Methodist
College continues to lead the conference standings with a 3-0
league record. The RedHawks are also the only TranSouth team in
the NAIA National rankings, coming in at No. 10, one spot up from
last week. Martin Methodist is ranked No. 2 and Cumberland
University sits at No. 4 in the NAIA Region XI rankings. Nanna
Jacobsen, of Cumberland University, was named this weeks
TranSouth Player of the Week. The TranSouth Conference womens
soccer tournament will be played on Nov. 4 and 5.

VOLLEYBALL - Union University remains
atop the TranSouth standings with a 7-0 mark. The Lady Bulldogs
are ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Region XI rankings and No. 11 in the
NAIA National rankings.. The No. 11 ranking, two spots higher that
last week, is the highest in Union volleyball history.
Freed-Hardeman is ranked No. 3 in the region, while Martin
Methodist comes in at No. 5 in the region. Ceca Brckalo of Lyon
College (Ark.), Nicole Garber of Union University (Tenn.), and
Allison Shein of Union University (Tenn.) were named the TranSouth
Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week, Setter of the
Week, and Libero of the Week respectively. The 2004 season has
just over three weeks remaining in the regular season before the
TranSouth Tournament begins on Thursday, November 11 in Henderson,
Tenn.
