The 2005 TranSouth Softball All-Conference
Teams have been announced. The Player of the Year and Coach of the
Year came from Martin Methodist. Karen Hargrove of Martin
Methodist and her coach Brandie Paul was named Coach of the Year.
Mary Kosco of Union University was named TranSouth Pitcher of the
Year alongside her teammate Danielle Pope who was named Newcomer
of the Year.
Hargrove hit .389 on the year with 12 doubles,
two triples, 15 home runs, 59 RBI. Her home run and RBI totals are
Martin Methodist records for a season. Hargrove leads the
TranSouth in home runs and RBI. Kosco was 20-7 on the year with a
1.05 ERA.
Kosco had 19 complete games and 11 shutouts.
Kosco was second in the TranSouth in wins and led the conference
with 181 strike outs.
Pope hit .418 on the year with 12 doubles, 10
home runs, and 54 RBI. Pope was third in the TranSouth in RBI and
was second in home runs.
