Player of the Week

Graeme Orr, Martin Methodist College

Graeme Orr of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2004.

Orr, a sophomore midfielder from Glasgow, Scotland, led the RedHawks to a win in their only game of the week with a multiple goal performance. Martin Methodist hosted TranSouth Conference opponent Cumberland University and the RedHawks handed the Bulldogs a 3-1 loss. Orr recorded two goals and an assist on the day.

Oct. 23

John Andrews of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 23, 2004. Andrews, a freshman defender from Cork, Ireland, led the RedHawks to a two win, one tie record on the week. In Martin Methodist's 4-1 win over TranSouth Conference opponent Union University, Andrews recorded the assist. Andrew's goal came in the RedHawks 2-0 win over Brewton Parker.

Oct. 16

Richard Askey of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2004. Askey, a senior forward from Burton, England, scored four goals and added four assists to help the RedHawks earn a perfect 2-0 record on the week. Askey tallied two goals and two assists in a 6-0 home shutout of Shorter College and put in two more goals and dished out two more assists in Martin Methodist's 4-2 victory at Flagler College.

Oct. 9

Gareth Munro of Union University has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2004. Munro, a sophomore midfielder from Cumbernauld, Scotland, put together two game winning performances to earn the conference player of the week honors. In Union's 5-1 victory over TranSouth Conference opponent Freed-Hardeman University, Munro scored three goals on the day for the conference win. Against NCAA D-III Piedmont College, Munro scored the game winning goal with 40 seconds left in regulation for the 3-2 Bulldog victory. Munro leads Union with eight goals and 18 total points on the season.

Oct. 2

Matthew Thorne of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 2, 2004. Thorne, a freshman goal keeper from Dublin, Ireland, earns the Player of the Week honor after shutting out Virginia Intermont, the RedHawks lone opponent for the week, with a 1-0 victory. Thorne recorded seven saves on seven shots on goal in the complete game shutout win.

Sept. 25

Paul Musoke of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 25, 2004. Musoke, a senior defender from Kampula, Uganda, earns led the RedHawks to a 2-0-1 week with a tie against Christian Brothers and wins against Bethel College and TranSouth Conference opponent Freed-Hardeman University. Musoke scored a goal in the 3-1 win over Bethel College and tallied two goals in the 4-2 win over Freed-Hardeman. Musoke's three goal performance earned him the senior defender the player of the week award.

Sept. 18

Neale Phelan of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 18, 2004. Phelan, a freshman forward from Carlow, Ireland, earns the Player of the Week honor for the second consecutive week after tallying four goals and one assist in the RedHawks two win, no loss week. Phelan recorded two goals each in wins over the University of Alabama-Huntsville and Tennessee Wesleyan College.

Sept. 11

Neale Phelan of Martin Methodist College has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 11, 2004. Phelan, a freshman forward from Carlow, Ireland, scored two goals in the RedHawks 3-0 win over TranSouth Conference opponent Trevecca Nazarene University. Phelan's scoring aided in Martin Methodist's first conference win of the season and second win overall.

Sept. 4

Benny Crozier of Union University has been named the TranSouth Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 4, 2004. Crozier, a freshman midfielder from Glasgow, Scotland, tallied three goals and one assist in two games for the Bulldogs leading Union to a 1-1 week. Crozier recorded all three goals and an assist against NCAA D-II opponent Delta State University. The three goals aided in the 12-0 Union win. As a freshman, Crozier scored the first three goals of his college career on only five shots.
