        <title>[Basketball] TranSouth:  73 Basketball Players Make TranSouth Scholar-Athlete List</title>

        <description>NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There are 22 men and 51 women on the 2012 TranSouth Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete team. Freed-Hardeman University topped the men's list with five individuals on the team while Trevecca Nazarene University placed eight women on the team to lead the way on the women's side. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition, there are seven (7) women and one male player who are being recognized as NAIA Scholar Athletes this season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Scholar-Athlete Qualifications:&amp;nbsp; TranSouth - Recipients must be a sophomore or above in academic standing; have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4.0 scale).&amp;nbsp; NAIA - (* = NAIA Scholar-Athlete) Recipients must be a junior or above in academic standing; been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

- Trevecca junior Marquise Rudolph, a product of Clarksville (Tenn.) Northwest
High School, reached the 1000 career scoring mark in Trevecca's 84-77 win at
Freed-Hardeman University on Thursday night. He is the 38th Trojan to reach the
mark. This is the 44th season of men's basketball at Trevecca.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

TranSouth Athletic Conference schools are joining with local charities
during the week of February 11-18 to host canned food drives at their home
basketball games.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;All canned goods will remain in each schools community to
benefit agencies in their respective areas. The National Association of
Intercollegiate Athletics encourages schools to participate in various service
projects as a part of its Champions of Character initiative.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
