Gladys Wandera (Union University) has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, Cheri Kull (Freed-Hardeman University) has been named as Setter, and Susie Harper (Lyon College) has been named as Libero. Awards are for the week ending October 30.

Gladys Wandera (Union University) ­ Gladys Wandera has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2004. Wandera, a 6'2" Senior from Kakamega, Kenya, led the Lady Bulldogs to two victories including wins over TSAC rivals Trevecca Nazarene and Martin Methodist. For the week Gladys averaged 6.50 kills per game, 2.00 digs per game, and 1.50 blocks per game. Union now stands 22-2 overall and 9-0 in the TSAC.

Cheri Kull (Freed-Hardeman University) ­ Cheri Kull has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2004. Kull, a 5'6" Senior from Canton, Ohio, was a huge reason the Lady Lions had an undefeated week, going 6-0, with a conference victory over TSAC rival Lyon College. For the week Cheri averaged 13.39 assists per game (241 assists in 18 games played) and recorded 37 digs and 9 service aces. Freed-Hardeman finished the week at 6-0 and now stands 22-2 overall and 9-0 in the conference.

Susie Harper (Lyon College) ­ Susie Harper has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2004. Harper, a 5'7" Junior from Pocahontas, Arkansas, had her best game of the week against in-state rival Hendrix College where she had 31 digs in 4 games, 1 error on 30 passes, and 5 service aces. For the week, Harper averaged 6.20 digs per game and attempted 72 passes with only 5 errors. Lyon is now 14-8 overall and 4-4 in the TSAC.

Ceca Brckalo has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 23, 2004. Brckalo, a 6'1" senior from Pale, Bosnia, led the Pipers to two victories including a win over NCAA Division I University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. For the week Ceca averaged 6.33 kills per game, 4.33digs per game, and .17 blocks per game. Lyon now stands 13-6 overall and 4-3 in the TSAC.

Union University

Nicole Garber has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending October 23, 2004. Garber, a 5'7" senior from Columbus, Indiana, was an integral part of the Lady Bulldogs going 5-1 this week, with a conference victory over TSAC rival Cumberland University. For the week Nicole averaged 13.00 assists per game (195 assists in 15 games played) and recorded 23 digs and 6 service aces. Union finished the week at 5-1 and now stands 20-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference.

Allison Shein has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week ending October 23, 2004. Shein, a 5'7" senior from Lighthouse Point,Florida, led the Lady Bulldogs to 5 victories this week, including a conference victory over Cumberland University. For the week, Shein averaged 4.22 digs per game and attempted 117 passes with only 7 errors. Union finished the week at 5-1 and now stands at 20-2 overall and 7-0 in the TSAC.

Ceca Brckalo has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2004. Brckalo, a 6'1" senior from Pale, Bosnia, had her best game of the year in a win over Philander Smith College, she hit .741with 22 kills and 2 errors on 27 attempts. For the week Ceca averaged 5.43 kills per game, 4.57 digs per game, and .29 blocks per game. Lyon now stands 11-6 overall and 4-3 in the TSAC.

Nicole Garber has been named thisweek's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2004. Garber, a 5'7" Senior from Columbus, Indiana, was a huge reason the Lady Bulldogs had an undefeated week, going 2-0, with victories over TSAC rival Lyon College and Cumberland College (KY). For the week Nicole averaged 12.25 assists per game (98 assists in 8 games played) and recorded 15 digs and 3 service aces. Union finished the week at 2-0and now stands 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference.

Shein, a 5'7" Senior from Lighthouse Point,Florida, led the Lady Bulldogs to two victories this week, including a conference victory over Lyon College and a win over Cumberland College (KY). For the week, Shein averaged 4.75 digs per game and attempted 51 passes with only 6 errors. Union finished the week at 2-0 and now stands at 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the TSAC.

Gladys Wandera has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 2, 2004. Wandera, a 6'2" Senior from Kakamega, Kenya, was a major player in leading Union to an undefeated week at 2-0. For the week Gladys averaged 5.50 kills per game, 2.33 digs per game, and 1.17 blocks per game. Union now stands 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the TSAC.

Shein, a 5'7" Senior from Lighthouse Point, Florida, led the Lady Bulldogs to two victories this week, including a conference victory over Lyon College. For the week, Shein averaged 5.00 digs per game and attempted 32 passes with only 8 errors. Union finished the week at 2-0 and now stands at 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the TSAC.

Sept. 25

Karina Souza
Freed-Hardeman University

Souza, a 5’7" freshman from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, helped lead Freed-Hardeman to an undefeated week with two wins, including a 2-0 record in the TSAC with victories over Trevecca Nazarene University and Cumberland University.

In the victory over Trevecca Nazarene, Souza recorded 18 kills and 13 digs. In the win over Cumberland, Karina had 16 kills and 21 digs.

For the week Karina averaged 5.67 kills per game, 5.67 digs per game, and .50 blocks per game. Freed-Hardeman went 2-0 on the week and now stands 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the TSAC.

Garber, a 5'7" senior from Columbus, Indiana, was a huge reason the Lady Bulldogs had an undefeated week, going 2-0, with victories over TSAC rivals Martin Methodist College and Cumberland University.

For the week Nicole averaged 12.60 assists per game (63 assists in 5 games played) and recorded 7 digs and 4 service aces. Union finished the week at 2-0 and now stands 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Susie Harper
Lyon College

Harper, a 5'7" junior from Pocahontas, Arkansas, led the Pipers to three victories this week, including conference victories over Cumberland University and Trevecca Nazarene University. Susie’s best game of the week came against Cumberland University where she recorded 43 digs in 4 games (10.75 per game).

For the week, Harper averaged 8.30 digs per game and attempted 58 passes with only 7 errors. Lyon finished the week at 3-0 and now stands at 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the TSAC.

Sept. 18

Fabiana Lima, Martin Methodist College
Lima, a 6’1" Sophomore from Minas Gerais, Brazil, helped lead Martin Methodist to an undefeated week with four wins, including a 1-0 record in the TSAC with a victory over Trevecca Nazarene University. In the victory over Trevecca Nazarene Lima recorded 22 kills, 19 digs, and 2 blocks. For the week Fabiana averaged 3.71 kills per game (52 kills, 114 attempts, 10 errors, .368), 3.64 digs per game, and .50 blocks per game. Martin Methodist went 4-0 on the week and is now 10-4 on the season.

Cheri Kull, Freed-Hardeman University
Kull, a 5'5" Senior from Canton, Ohio, was a huge reason the Lady Lions had an undefeated week, going 2-0. For the week Cheri averaged 15.00 assists per game (90 assists in 6 games played) and recorded 25 digs. Freed-Hardeman went 2-0 on the week and now stands at 4-1 on the season.

Susie Harper, Lyon College
Harper, a 5'7" Junior from Pocahontas, Arkansas, led the Pipers to two victories this week. In a victory over the University of Texas at Tyler, Susie recorded 29 digs and 8 service aces. Harper also recorded 21 digs and 19 passes with 1 error against the University of Dallas. For the week, Harper averaged 7.20 digs per game and attempted 70 passes with only 9 errors. Lyon finished the week at 2-1 and now stands at 4-3 for the season.

Ceca Brckalo has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending September 4, 2004. Brckalo, a 6'1" Senior from Pale, Bosnia, helped lead the Pipers to an undefeated week after beating Philander Smith College, 3-0, and Williams Baptist College, 3-1. Against Philander Smith College, Ceca recorded 15 kills with 3 errors, 4 service aces, and 5 digs. In the win over Williams Baptist College, Brckalo had 18 kills, 12 digs, and 2 blocks. On the week, Ceca averaged 4.71 kills per game with a .265 kill %, recorded 5 service aces, 17 digs, and 2 blocks. The Pipers were 2-0 on the week and are 2-0 for the season.

Yllen Rosales, Lyon College
Yllen Rosales has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending September 4, 2004. Rosales, a 5'8" Senior from Port Neches, Texas, was a huge reason the Pipers had an undefeated week, with wins over Philander Smith College and Williams Baptist College. All of Yllen's accomplishments were recorded while running Lyon College's 6-2 offense. In the victory over Philander Smith College, Yllen recorded 18 assists, 4 service aces, 6 digs, and 1 assisted block. In the win over in-state rival Williams Baptist College, Rosales compiled 36 assists, 4 digs, and 3 assisted blocks. On the week, Yllen averaged 7.71 assists per game, recorded 4 service aces, 10 digs, and 4 assisted blocks. The Pipers were 2-0 on the week and are 2-0 for the season.

Susie Harper, Lyon College
Susie Harper has been named this week's TranSouth Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week ending September 4, 2004. Harper, a 5'7" Junior from Pocahontas, Arkansas, led the Pipers past two non-conference opponents. In a 3-0 win over Philander Smith College, Susie recorded 8 digs, 20 passes with 0 errors, and 8 service aces with only 1 service error. In a 3-1 victory over in-state rival Williams Baptist College, Harper had 27 digs, 24 passes with 2 errors, and 4 service aces. On the week, Harper averaged 5 digs per game, had 44 pass attempts with 2 errors, and 12 service aces. The Pipers were 2-0 on the week and are 2-0 for the season.
